About the Job
The Supply Chain Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of product by coordinating bulk and bagged shipments via rail, truck, and barge while supporting plant operations, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate scheduling and loading of railcars, trucks, and barges to meet production plans and customer demand
- Partner with plant personnel, Production Planning, Customer Service, and laboratory teams to ensure accurate loading instructions and quality compliance
- Manage railcar activity, including billing, repairs, movement coordination, and system data accuracy
- Minimize detention risk by proactively managing bulk and bagged truck schedules
- Maintain shipping, inventory, and railcar data in ERP and railcar management systems
- Prepare daily production reports, shipment tracking, and month‑end finished goods inventory
- Review, approve, and document detention invoices; audit carrier performance
- Support plant leadership and Finance through accurate reporting and data analysis
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication skills with operations, planners, and cross‑functional partners
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coordinating railcars, trucks, or barges
- 2 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation, or a related role
- Familiarity with railcar management or transportation systems
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and follow‑through abilities
