The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring the availability of products. The role involves conducting regular inventory audits, processing stock transactions, and collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless inventory operations. The Inventory Specialist plays a key role in optimizing inventory management processes and ensuring that stock is always available to meet customer or production demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Tracking and Management:
1. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels.
2. Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
3. Ensure that all inventory data is accurately entered into the inventory management system in a timely manner.
Inventory Audits:
1. Perform cycle counts, spot checks, and full inventory audits as required to ensure stock accuracy.
2. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between physical inventory and system records, identifying root causes.
3. Assist with annual or periodic audits as requested by management.
Restocking and Replenishment:
1. Monitor stock levels and coordinate with manager supply chain when inventory reaches predefined reorder points.
2. Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure timely restocking of inventory to meet operational or production needs.
3. Ensure that stock levels are sufficient to meet production and customer demand without overstocking.
Inventory Optimization:
1. Analyze inventory usage and sales data to optimize stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and prevent stock outs.
2. Implement best practices for inventory storage and movement to minimize waste, damage, or loss.
3. Collaborate with the logistics or warehouse team to ensure efficient storage and organization of inventory.
Receiving and Processing Inventory:
1. Oversee the receipt of goods, verifying quantities, and ensuring they match the purchase orders.
2. Ensure accurate labeling, categorization, and placement of incoming stock in the warehouse or storage areas.
3. Manage the return of defective or excess stock to suppliers when necessary.
Reporting and Data Analysis:
1. Generate and maintain regular inventory reports, including stock levels, turnover rates, and usage trends.
2. Provide data to management for decision-making and forecasting purposes.
3. Assist in analyzing stock movements, highlighting trends that can lead to better inventory management practices.
Compliance and Safety:
1. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations regarding the handling and storage of goods.
2. Safeguard inventory against theft, damage, or spoilage by implementing and following best practices for inventory control.
Collaboration and Coordination:
1. Work closely with the purchasing, logistics, warehouse, and production teams to ensure inventory accuracy and efficiency.
2. Support customer service and sales teams by providing inventory availability updates and resolving any stock-related inquiries.
3. Assist with inventory-related projects and improvement initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
2. Experience: upto 1 year of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or a related role is preferred.
3. Knowldege of computer, microsoft office
