1. Position Summary
The Supply Chain Management (SCM) Executive/Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the end-to-end supply chain activities, including procurement, vendor development, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, and production planning, to ensure smooth and cost-effective operations. The role ensures timely availability of raw materials and finished goods while maintaining optimum inventory levels and compliance with company policies.
2. Key Responsibilities2.1 Procurement & Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for raw materials, consumables, and services.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts with vendors.
- Issue Purchase Orders (PO) and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Maintain vendor database and conduct periodic vendor audits.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies.
2.2 Production Planning & Material Requirement Planning (MRP)
- Prepare production plans based on sales forecasts and customer orders.
- Plan material requirements and ensure availability to avoid production delays.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Sales, and Quality departments.
- Monitor daily production schedules and adjust plans as required.
2.3 Inventory Management
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to reduce holding costs.
- Monitor stock movement and conduct regular physical stock verification.
- Implement FIFO/FEFO practices where applicable.
- Minimize obsolete and slow-moving inventory.
- Ensure accurate inventory records in ERP/system.
2.4 Logistics & Distribution
- Coordinate dispatch planning and ensure on-time delivery to customers.
- Manage transporters and negotiate freight rates.
- Monitor transit performance and resolve logistics issues.
- Ensure proper documentation (E-way bills, invoices, delivery challans, etc.).
- Track shipment status and maintain dispatch records.
2.5 Cost Control & Budgeting
- Monitor supply chain costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare and track procurement and logistics budgets.
- Analyze cost variances and implement corrective actions.
- Support management with supply chain MIS and performance reports.
2.6 Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain documentation related to procurement, logistics, and inventory.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and SOPs.

4. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management / Operations / Commerce / Engineering.
- MBA in Operations / Supply Chain (Preferred).
- Certification in SCM, Logistics, or ERP systems is an added advantage.
5. Experience Requirements
- Executive Level: 2–5 years of experience in supply chain or procurement.
- Manager Level: 5–10+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing/plant operations.
- Experience in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally / etc.) preferred.
