We are looking for a skilled and motivated Capital Equipment Supply Chain Manager to join Tesla’s team. You will support our global Manufacturing and Engineering groups by sourcing strategic battery capital equipment for current and future projects. What You'll Do
This role will focus on improving the $/GWh for Tesla’s battery capital equipment by reducing cost and minimizing risk in the upstream equipment supply chain
Manage RFQs and contracts, ensuring Non-Disclosure Agreements and Terms & Conditions are negotiated and documented
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to identify capable suppliers, enforce sourcing best practices, and recommend suppliers based on quote analysis
Build strong supplier relationships to achieve forecasting, allocation, quality, cost, and delivery goals
Negotiate pricing and terms, issue purchase orders, and support cost management and design changes
Develop technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, technology, and supply base for assigned sub-systems
Develop unit rate cost models for Battery Capital Equipment to inform future negotiations
What You'll Bring
Degree in Industrial or Chemical Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience
5+ years in Sourcing, Procurement, or Program Management
Knowledge of legal contracts and commercial agreements
Expertise in should-cost estimates, supplier proposal analysis, and manufacturing cost breakdowns
Strong communication skills to engage with supplier executives and resolve project-level tensions
Proficient in Excel, MS Office, and ERP/MRP purchasing systems
Ability to work independently with cross-functional teams, including Engineers and Supply Chain
Experience with industrial chemical processes such as mixing, milling, filtration, pumps, inline process measurement, instrumentation, classifiers, kilns/ovens, feeders, powder conveyance is a plus
Willingness to travel up to 25%

Expected Compensation
$101,280 - $189,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
