Supply Chain Specialist

About the Job:


Supply Chain Specialist Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Ensure that the best possible price, delivery, and quality are obtained for the company through effective purchasing.
  • Ensure POs are placed in a timely manner to achieve the required deadlines.
  • Obtain quotes from different suppliers and determine the most appropriate suppliers to purchase from, seeking to negotiate discounts where possible.
  • Determine the most cost-effective quantities to purchase items in, purchasing in bulk where appropriate to secure any relevant volume discounts and avoid excessive shipping charges.
  • Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality and on-time delivery and liaise with supplier to address any issues noted.
  • Develop relationships with key suppliers.
  • Liaise with staff responsible for production and materials control, to ensure they are aware of upcoming goods deliveries.
  • Liaise with Department managers regularly to understand and help them meet customer needs.
  • Explore and develop the purchasing functionality in Rentalman and ensure it is being used to maximum effect (e.g. implementation of PO clauses etc.)
  • Obtain quotes and select relevant transportation options (air/sea/road) as appropriate.
  • Prepare a compliant import and export documentation for all incoming and outgoing shipments & full awareness about SABER & ither custom regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of all imports and exports.
  • Undertake other related duties as required.
  • manage time sensitive demands ( such as expedited orders) with calm, structured problem solving .


Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in procurement & logistics.

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business administration or relevant field is preferred.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
