Incumbent must obtain CPR certification within 90 days of employment. CPR certification must be current for duration of employment within 90 Days
JOB DUTIES
Works with department Manager to facilitate departmental needs assessment and designs training programs that align with departmental learning objectives using adult learning principles and best practices. Inspiring commitment and team building to motivate staff on the service goals of the UT Southwestern hospitals and clinics.
Produce training materials and individual learning plans for department employees. Amends and revises programs as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment.
Conducts departmental orientation sessions for all new Guest & Patient Services employees, provides performance feedback and ensures that all new employees have the skills and training needed to perform their job.
Works with department Manager to solve specific training problems, in addition conducts training appraisals at regular intervals. Directs and supervises the delivery of training and development programs. Maintains training record keeping.
Completes and coordinates projects and reports which require use of computer software applications.
Builds solid working relationships with all Guest Services employees. Responsible for coaching, counseling and formal discipline of all Guest Services employees as it relates to training.
Responsible for updating all department resources that are accessible via department SharePoint site.
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, displays willingness to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, uses discretion to make decisions or seeks advice from Manager.
Demonstrates attention to detail, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, follows policies and procedures, responds to management direction and arrives to work, meetings and appointments on time.
Communicates changes effectively, prepares and supports those affected by change, monitors transition and evaluates results and applies feedback to improve performance.
Duties performed may include one or more of the following core functions: a) Directly interacting with or caring for patients b) Directly interacting with or caring for human subject research participants.
Functions in all guest service locations, rotates with supervisory and leadership staff to provide weekend and holiday coverage or at any time as needed.
Maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with University and departmental policy.
Performs other duties as assigned.
