Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Cosmetic Surgery Coordinator to join our Cosmetic Surgery team. In this vital role, you will serve as the central point of contact for surgical procedures, ensuring seamless coordination between patients, medical staff, and external providers. Your proactive approach will help optimize surgical scheduling, manage detailed documentation, and uphold the highest standards of patient care and compliance. Duties

  • Coordinate cosmetic surgical schedules by collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and patients to ensure timely and efficient procedures
  • Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems platforms to accurately document patient information and surgical details
  • Prepare and review medical records, care plans, and surgical documentation to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and coding standards including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
  • Communicate effectively with patients via phone and in person to provide preoperative instructions, answer questions, and coordinate follow-up care
  • Maintain meticulous records of all surgical activities, appointments, and correspondence while ensuring confidentiality of protected health information (PHI)

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in medical administrative support within a clinical or surgical setting; clinic or dental office experience is highly valued
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, Medicare guidelines, and HIPAA compliance requirements
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on phone etiquette and patient service excellence
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations
  • Experience with insurance verification processes and medical billing procedures is preferred
  • Office management skills including filing, documentation review, scheduling coordination, and multi-line phone system operation are essential
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technology platforms such as Eaglesoft or Carestream Dental software if applicable
