Job Description: Surveyor – Oil & Gas (Qatar)

Position Summary

The Surveyor is responsible for conducting precise land, topographic, and hydrographic surveys to support oil and gas exploration, construction, and maintenance projects across Qatar. This role ensures accurate measurements, mapping, and data interpretation to guide engineering, pipeline routing, site development, and infrastructure activities. The Surveyor will work closely with project teams to maintain compliance with local regulations, international standards, and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Survey Operations

  • Conduct land, engineering, and topographic surveys for oil & gas sites, pipelines, facilities, and associated infrastructure.
  • Perform GPS, total station, and laser scanning surveys to capture accurate site data.
  • Carry out pre-construction and post-construction surveys including setting-out, as-built surveys, and alignment checks.
  • Execute hydrographic surveys where required (offshore/nearshore).

Data & Reporting

  • Prepare survey reports, drawings, and maps using CAD and GIS software.
  • Analyze measurement data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Maintain proper documentation of survey activities following company and regulatory standards.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all survey operations comply with Qatar’s regulations, HSE policies, and oil & gas industry standards.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety inspections.

Coordination & Communication

  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, drilling, and project management teams.
  • Provide technical recommendations on site elevations, boundaries, and layout adjustments.
  • Coordinate with external contractors, consultants, and government bodies when required.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Experience

  • 3–7 years of survey experience in the oil & gas sector, preferably in Qatar or the GCC.
  • Proven experience with pipeline, plant, offshore, or infrastructure surveys.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with GPS, Total Station, AutoCAD, GIS, and surveying software.
  • Strong knowledge of Qatar’s land regulations and survey practices.
  • Familiarity with international standards (e.g., ISO, API, ASME).

Other Requirements

  • Valid Qatar driving license (preferred).
  • Strong analytical, accurate, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in remote desert or offshore environments.
  • Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Pay: QAR7,000.00 - QAR10,000.00 per month
