Summary
We are recruiting a dynamic Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and Operations to lead our global manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering functions across facilities in the U.S. and Costa Rica. This executive role will drive strategic initiatives to elevate productivity, quality, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in multi-site manufacturing leadership, Lean/Six Sigma practices, and a strong background in medical device operations. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, develop world-class operations, and execute company-wide goals is essential.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop and implement Global Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering strategies, imperatives, and deliverables in alignment with the Company-wide strategy.

Provides direction and support to the Operations leadership team and company stakeholders in the development and execution of the group’s strategic plans.

Collaborates with executive leadership and other external resources to develop and meet Company goals.

Create a roadmap aimed towards World-Class Operations, with a strong focus on operational enhancements, such as labor productivity, capacity augmentation, throughput improvements, Lean/Six Sigma, processes and procedures, EHS&S, Supplier savings and partnerships, advanced engineering, and product innovation.

Lead the strategic evaluation of the company's global manufacturing footprint to ensure alignment with long-term business objectives, cost targets, and operational excellence. This includes assessing current facility performance, capacity utilization, geographic advantages, supply chain integration, labor and material costs, and potential risks.

Ensure that departmental decisions and project plans, such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency and availability, hardware acquisitions, product development, and facilities are in line with the Company’s strategy.

Act as a coach and mentor to his/her staff, encouraging decision-making, enterprise-wide collaboration, and taking ownership of their duties and responsibilities.

Provide expertise and guidance on Operations’ projects and systems.

Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.

Oversee product flow and implement new processes to improve efficiency and support growth in new product lines, utilizing current industry-wide Industrial Engineering tools and methods.

Ensure product quality consistently meets HCG’s and customers’ requirements, Quality Management System (QMS), and is in compliance with FDA and ISO 13485 guidelines.

Identify and mitigate risks in Manufacturing operations that could negatively impact cost, quality, and/or the delivery of products to customers.

Adopt and enhance current environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures, to ensure compliance with the Company’s and regulatory policies.

Establish and effectively manage department operating budgets for global operations.

Collaborate with Finance on the development of product Standard Cost, Value of Production (VOP), COGS, and OCOS for the annual budget.

Utilize the S&OP process and effectively collaborate with leadership on demand and supply planning to optimize attainment of the production schedules.

Optimize the management of sourced finished goods from Contract Manufacturers to ensure customer service levels and inventory are consistently met.

Create all necessary metrics and goals to measure actual performance and take the necessary actions to achieve the set goals.

Lead the design, construction, qualification, and start-up of new manufacturing plants and/or equipment and processes.

Ensure the Company maintains its production facilities at a high standard of readiness (validated, calibrated, qualified, continually operational).

Education, Skills, and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical), MBA preferred.

Prior experience as a Plant Manager, with a strong background in Lean/Six Sigma, continuous improvements, and achieving plant-wide KPIs.

Minimum 10 years of experience in a direct on-site manufacturing leadership role, preferably in a medical device manufacturing environment.

Relevant recent experience in a small to mid-sized global, multi-site manufacturer; also, experience in a larger manufacturer learning best practices and developing a breadth of experiences in a variety of plants, products, and business models.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior management role.

Direct involvement and leadership in project management, process engineering, and industrial engineering.

Proven track record in leadership, people development, and attainment of company goals.
