Position Swimming Coach

Introduction
The Swimming Coach at PMU is responsible for leading, developing, and managing the university’s swimming team. This role includes training student-athletes, fostering sportsmanship and teamwork, and ensuring a competitive and educational environment that aligns with the mission of PMU. The coach will develop structured training programs, organize matches and tournaments, and work to enhance the overall quality and visibility of the swimming program.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Swimming Coach’s duties and responsibilities are:
Plan, organize, and conduct swimming training sessions and practices.- Develop athletes’ skills, conditioning, and tactical understanding of the game.
- Coach the university swimming team during competitions and tournaments.
- Identify and recruit student-athletes with potential and encourage student participation.
- Monitor the academic progress and well-being of team members.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of swimming equipment and facilities.
- Promote discipline, teamwork, and adherence to sportsmanship values.
- Develop game strategies, analyze team performance, and make tactical adjustments as needed.
- Coordinate logistics for training, competitions, and travel arrangements.
- Ensure compliance with university rules, sports federation regulations, and safety standards.
- Organize and support internal university swimming events, leagues, or friendly matches.
- Serve as a positive mentor and role model for student-athletes.
Qualifications & Experience (Required)
Suitable candidates should be possessing the criteria such as:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Coaching, or a related field (Master’s preferred).- Minimum of 3–5 years of coaching experience in swimming at the collegiate, club, or professional level.
- Swimming coaching certification is preferred.
- Demonstrated success in developing athletes and leading competitive teams.
- Experience working with young adults or university-level athletes.
- Passing the official swimming coaching tests (or their equivalent) with the local federation, specifically the Saudi Swimming Federation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Required)
Deep knowledge of swimming rules, techniques, and strategies.- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to create training plans tailored to individual and team development.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to inspire sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork.
- Familiarity with injury prevention, warm-up routines, and physical conditioning techniques.
- Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
- Bilingual proficiency (English required; Arabic is a plus).
