Key Responsibilities
- Supervision and Prevention:Actively monitor all swimming areas to prevent accidents, identify potential hazards, and intervene in dangerous situations.
- Rule Enforcement:Ensure patrons adhere to all safety rules and regulations for the pool facility.
- Emergency Response:Respond to emergencies, rescue swimmers in distress, and administer first aid, CPR, and artificial respiration when necessary.
- Emergency Action Planning:Follow established emergency action plans and procedures in the event of an incident.
- Facility & Equipment Maintenance:Conduct regular safety inspections of the pool, equipment, and water, and perform basic cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Water Quality Monitoring:Test and record water chemistry (e.g., chlorine, pH) to maintain a safe swimming environment.
- Communication:Effectively communicate with swimmers, staff, and emergency services.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Certifications:Possess a current lifeguard certification from a recognized organization.
- Swimming Proficiency:Be a highly competent and strong swimmer, comfortable in various water conditions.
- First Aid Knowledge:Be knowledgeable in administering first aid and other life-saving techniques.
- Observation Skills:Maintain a high level of awareness to identify potential threats and changing dynamics in the water.
- Physical Fitness:Maintain a high level of physical fitness to effectively perform duties, including rescues.
- Communication Skills:Communicate clearly and effectively with patrons and other staff.
