Swimming Teacher

Role Summary

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Swim Instructor to deliver high-quality

swimming lessons to children and adults of varying abilities. The successful candidate will

create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment while promoting water safety

and swimming skill development.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver swimming lessons for individuals and groups.

* Teach swimming techniques, water confidence, and water safety skills.

* Assess swimmers’ abilities and track progress.

* Adapt lesson plans to meet diNerent age groups and skill levels.

* Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during lessons.

* Maintain accurate attendance and progress records.

* Communicate eNectively with parents regarding swimmer development.

* Enforce pool safety rules and emergency procedures.

* Assist with swim assessments, competitions, and club events as required.

* Maintain equipment and report any safety concerns.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

* Recognized Swim Teaching Qualification (ASA/Swim England level 2 , or equivalent).

* Valid First Aid and CPR certification.

* Lifeguard certification (preferred but not always mandatory).

* Knowledge of swimming techniques and water safety practices.

Experience

* Minimum 1–2 years of swimming instruction experience.

* Experience teaching children from beginner to advanced levels.

* Ability to motivate and engage swimmers of all ages.

* Strong organizational and time-management skills.

* Patient, energetic, and professional approach.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Strong commitment to child safeguarding and safety standards.

Preferred

* Experience coaching competitive swimmers.

* Knowledge of Learn-to-Swim pathways and swimmer progression frameworks
