System Architect Lead (Cloud & Infrastructure)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Systems Architect Lead to drive the architecture, governance, and operational excellence of a multi-cloud ecosystem spanning Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and hybrid environments built on Nutanix HCI. This role is responsible for ensuring secure, resilient, and cost-optimized cloud services while leading cloud strategy, modernization, and long-term digital transformation initiatives. The position also provides technical leadership to cloud engineering teams and ensures mission-critical workloads operate at enterprise-grade standards.

Key Responsibilities

Multi-Cloud Architecture & Strategy

• Design and maintain scalable, secure architectures across Azure, Google Cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Apply cloud architecture best practices, patterns, and frameworks to ensure resilience, availability, and performance.
• Evaluate and recommend cloud services and technologies aligned with long-term business strategy.

Hybrid Cloud & HCI Management

• Oversee Nutanix and VMware HCI environments, ensuring seamless integration with public cloud platforms.
• Optimize hybrid workloads, compute, and storage for mission-critical applications.
• Manage lifecycle operations, including upgrades, patching, and performance tuning.

Cloud Governance, Security & Compliance

• Establish and enforce governance frameworks, policies, RBAC models, and compliance controls.
• Implement cloud security standards, identity frameworks, and monitoring practices.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory, audit, and cybersecurity requirements.

Cloud Cost Management & FinOps

• Lead cloud cost governance, including budgeting, forecasting, and optimization strategies.
• Conduct regular cost reviews and implement efficiency and savings initiatives.
• Ensure proper tagging, chargeback mechanisms, and cost visibility across environments.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

• Design and maintain disaster recovery strategies across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
• Conduct DR drills, failover testing, and readiness assessments.
• Ensure workloads meet defined RPO and RTO requirements.

Cloud Migration & Modernization

• Develop and execute migration strategies from on-premises and hybrid environments to cloud platforms.
• Lead modernization initiatives leveraging PaaS, containers, and automation.
• Ensure minimal disruption and risk during migration activities.

Landing Zone & Cloud Operations

• Define, implement, and maintain cloud landing zones, policies, and guardrails.
• Oversee workload configuration, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Drive operational excellence through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop cloud engineering teams.
• Establish technical standards, documentation, and best practices.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

• Present cloud strategies, risks, and architecture decisions to leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud-driven initiatives.
• Act as a trusted advisor for cloud adoption, modernization, and transformation programs.

Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, multi-cloud engineering, or hybrid infrastructure roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing mission-critical cloud environments and leading technical teams.
• Hands-on experience in designing scalable, fault-tolerant cloud solutions.

Technical Expertise

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud platforms.
• Expertise in Nutanix HCI and VMware virtualization technologies.
• Deep knowledge of cloud security, identity, and governance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, distributed systems, and hybrid architectures.
• Experience with disaster recovery, business continuity, and application migration.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM/Bicep) and automation frameworks.
• Strong troubleshooting, monitoring, and performance optimization skills.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
• Nutanix and/or VMware certifications
