System Deployment Technician - Communication System (Military Project)

Job Description: Thales is a global leader in aerospace, transportation, defence and security, offering innovative solutions. This role is part of the Middle East Engineering project and focuses on renovating the existing radio communication system within the defence sector. The Deployment Technician will work on a field based project, deploying and maintaining communication systems across 20 sites and securing military authorizations.
Objectives
The Deployment Technician will work on a project in the defence sector aimed at renovating the existing radio communication system as part of the Deployment Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure the system (hardware & software components)
- Provide technical support to the customer
- Monitor system health during operations and troubleshoot issues with support from Thales back office
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance tasks
System Installation & Configuration
- Install and configure hardware components including servers, workstations and networking equipment
- Deploy operating systems, drivers and application software as required
- Conduct verification tasks on the deployed system
- Troubleshoot deployment issues
Technical Support & Documentation
- Monitor the health of the system in operations and troubleshoot software faults
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks
- Apply patches and upgrades
- Update installation and maintenance manuals as needed
- Maintain clear and accurate records of system configurations, changes and maintenance activities
- Provide technical support to the customer
Work Experience Requirements
- 2+ years deploying radio communication systems composed of hardware and software components
- Experience in defence projects or critical infrastructure preferred
- Entry level experience operating Linux systems
- Entry level experience with Docker
- Experience integrating and testing complex systems considered a plus
Qualification, Certification & Educational Requirements
- Diploma/degree or equivalent experience in Electronics, Software Integration or related field
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Skills
- Basic understanding of radio technologies and product development within a project environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation guides
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to synthesise an issue
- Strong ability to work independently and as a team to solve problems
- Maintain good customer communication
- High responsiveness to solicitations
- Fluent in English; French and Arabic are a plus
HSE Responsibilities
- Take care of own safety and others' safety as practicable
- Understand personal responsibilities and comply with the HSE management system
- Comply with local laws and legislation regarding HSE
- Use required safety equipment (including PPE)
