Job Description – System Specialist
We are seeking experienced
System Specialists
to provide technical assistance, maintenance, and support for computer systems, software, hardware, and cloud environments. The role involves analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing solutions, and supporting the IT System Administrator. The System Specialist will also be responsible for system administration, infrastructure management, and internal IT support.
Key Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure Management
-
Hands-on experience with Data Center operations, IIS, Web servers, clustering, load balancers, SAN/NAS storage, blade/rack servers, backups, patch management, Office 365 E5, Azure Cloud, and Google Cloud.

Implement best practices in collaboration with Security Admin for policies, procedures, and server hardening.
-
Ensure system uptime, high availability, and robust performance monitoring.

Troubleshoot errors (event viewer, hardware, audit trails) and apply corrective actions.
-
Plan downtime in line with approval and change management processes.
-
Support procurement (RFPs, technical specifications, vendor evaluation).
-
Maintain inventory of equipment, software licenses, and warranties (renew in advance).
-
Provide daily/weekly/monthly reports on system performance and activities.
-
Participate in integration scenarios and infrastructure evaluations.
-
Support line-of-business (LOB) applications.

Server & Directory Services
-
Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Print Server, Group Policy, NTP Services.
-
Proficiency in FSMO roles, ADSI Edit, AD Connect, SMTP Server.
-
Manage user/computer groups in Active Directory.
-
Implement best practices for server administration.
-
Monitor and improve system performance and reliability.
-
Virtualization
-
Expertise in Hyper-V and VMware environments.
-
Configure failover systems for services and applications.
-
Monitor, tune, and update performance.
-
Microsoft Office 365 & Exchange
-
Backup and restore PST files, import/export between mailboxes.
-
Strong knowledge of Exchange Online, mailbox types, licenses, and configurations.
-
Administration across Exchange Admin Center, Security & Compliance, Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft Stream, and Protection.office.com.

Implement anti-spam/anti-virus solutions, manage mailbox permissions, email forwarding, and group assignments.

Backup & Recovery
-
Strong understanding of backup concepts and strategies.
-
Proficient with Veeam Backup and other enterprise backup solutions.
-
Create, monitor, and troubleshoot backup jobs for OS, VMs, applications, web servers, and databases.
-
Perform granular/full restores and disaster recovery planning.
-
Monitor backup storage capacity and efficiency.
-
Microsoft Azure Cloud
-
Deploy and manage VMs, storage accounts, virtual networks, and Azure Active Directory.
-
Manage identity, access control, roles, RBAC, and Conditional Access Policies.
-
Monitor user activity (sign-ins, audit logs), create resource groups, and enforce security policies.
-
Utilize Azure cloud app security, Microsoft 365 Defender, Key Vault, and encryption solutions.
-
Ensure compliance with business continuity, disaster recovery, and data protection standards.
-
Google Cloud
-
Deploy and manage VMs, Buckets, File Store, VPCs, and Load Balancers.
-
Implement IAM roles, permissions, and access policies.
-
Design backup strategies for databases and storage.
-
Configure failover/high availability solutions.
-
Conduct disaster recovery testing and ensure business continuity.
Key Relationships

Manager: Escalate issues, report on performance, suggest improvements, and follow instructions.

Work Team: Collaborate to meet business goals, share knowledge, support colleagues, and participate in ITIL processes.

Clients/Users: Provide solutions, resolve issues, and advise on IT best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.

Experience: 7–10 years in IT system administration and infrastructure management.

Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory):

Microsoft Certified: System Administrator

Microsoft Office 365 Certified

Google Cloud Certified
-
ITIL v4 or equivalent framework certification
Additional Information

Availability to work late hours or holidays during emergencies or critical tasks.

Must ensure compliance with ITIL/MOF frameworks, security, and organizational IT policies.

Willingness to take part in critical IT project evaluations, testing, and deployments.
