We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive
Systems Administrator
to manage, maintain, and optimize our critical IT infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for the health and security of our virtualized environments, directory services, messaging systems, and backup solutions. The ideal candidate is a technical expert who enjoys troubleshooting complex issues and automating routine tasks to ensure maximum system uptime and efficiency.
Core Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management:
Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical servers and Storage Area Networks (SAN).

Virtualization & Cloud:
Manage and scale VMware environments, ensuring high availability and optimal resource allocation.

Directory & Identity:
Administer Active Directory (AD) services, managing Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, and DHCP to maintain a secure and organized user environment.

Messaging & Security:
Maintain Microsoft Exchange Server health and manage enterprise-level email security solutions to mitigate phishing and malware threats.

Microsoft 365 Administration:
Familiarity with M365 services including Azure Active Directory, Endpoint Management, Exchange Online, and related security/compliance features.

Data Protection:
Execute and monitor backup jobs using Veeam Backup and Replication Suite, performing regular restoration tests to ensure disaster recovery readiness.

Automation & Scripting:
Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive administrative tasks and improve system workflows.

Cross-Platform Admin:
Provide expert-level administration for Linux-based systems alongside Windows environments.

Maintenance & Compliance:
Oversight of patch management solutions to ensure all systems are protected against vulnerabilities.
Technical Requirements
Expert-Level Proficiency (In-Depth Understanding)

VMware:
Comprehensive knowledge of ESXi, vCenter, and virtual networking.

Active Directory:
Advanced management of AD DS, Group Policy (GPO) design, and identity lifecycle management.

Exchange Server:
Deep understanding of mail flow, database management, and troubleshooting in an on-prem or hybrid environment.

Microsoft 365 & Cloud :
Working knowledge of Azure AD, Intune, Conditional Access, device compliance policies, and M365 administration best practices

Veeam Backup & Replication:
Proven ability to design backup strategies, manage repositories, and execute complex recoveries.

Linux Administration:
Strong command-line skills and experience managing various distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).

PowerShell Scripting:
Ability to write, debug, and implement advanced scripts for system automation.
Core Familiarity & Experience

Email Security:
Experience with solutions such as Mimecast, Proofpoint, or Barracuda.

Patch Management:
Familiarity with tools like WSUS, SCCM, or third-party patching engines (e.g., Ivanti, ManageEngine).

Hardware & Storage:
Hands-on experience with physical server hardware (Dell, HP, Cisco) and SAN technologies (iSCSI/Fibre Channel).
Qualifications & Soft Skills

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Experience:
3+ years of experience in a Systems Administration role.

Exceptional analytical skills with a "root-cause" mindset for troubleshooting.

Communication:
Ability to document technical processes clearly and communicate complex issues to non-technical stakeholders.

Certifications (Preferred):
VCP (VMware), MCSE/MCSA, Linux+, or Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE).
