JOB TITLE: Systems & Network Engineer
LOCATION OR DEPARTMENT: IT Department

REPORTS TO: Network Manager
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None
SUMMARY OF POSITION: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems & Network Engineer to join our IT team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our growing network and systems infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT systems and network engineering, along with a proactive attitude and problem-solving mindset.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design, install, configure, and maintain enterprise network and on-prem server infrastructure.

Monitor network and system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high levels of availability, performance, and security.

Administer and support Cisco Secure Firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure.

Management of Cisco DNA, ISE, ESA, Umbrella and DUO technologies.

Perform regular system and network maintenance, updates, and patch management.

Support backup and disaster recovery strategies and solutions.

Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures in line with compliance requirements.

Assist in the planning and deployment of IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.

Assist in the management of Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file servers, VMWare, and SAN.

Provide technical support and escalate complex issues to senior engineers or vendors when necessary.

Document system configurations, network diagrams, and processes for knowledge sharing and compliance.

Incorporate company values into daily interactions with internal and external customers.

Other duties may include, but are not limited to, training new employees and assisting in other areas of IT.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 or 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.

4+ years of experience in a Systems and/or Network Engineering role.

Advance knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco Secure Firewalls, Cisco routers and switches, as well as the whole suite of Cisco products (DNA, ISE, ESA, Umbrella, DUO).

Proficiency with network technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols).

Hands-on experience with VMWare as well as Windows and Linux server environments.

Experience with reading syslogs and Wireshark captures.

Strong understanding of security best practices (firewall policies, endpoint protection, access controls).

Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Security+, or equivalent.

Experience with automation/scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Go).

Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Zabbix, Splunk, SolarWinds, Graylog, etc.).

Experience in healthcare IT setting preferred.
DAILY PHYSICAL DEMANDS REQUIRED FOR PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Requires sitting, bending and stretching required. Requires lifting computer equipment up to 50 pounds occasionally. Repetitive motions, keyboarding, twisting, turning, gripping and grasping.
