Find The RightJob.
We are seeking a collaborative, technically skilled, and user-focused Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the infrastructure and systems that support our applications and services. The successful candidate will work closely with product, platform, security, and operations teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure system delivery. This role requires strong systems engineering fundamentals, cloud and automation experience, and the ability to translate operational needs into robust technical solutions.
Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure and system components across cloud and on-premises environments to meet performance, availability, and security objectives.
Implement and operate CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, and automated provisioning to accelerate delivery while ensuring repeatability and compliance.
Manage system observability and operational tooling: define SLOs/SLAs, instrument telemetry, maintain dashboards, and implement alerting and on-call processes to quickly detect and remediate incidents.
Collaborate with development and platform teams to design resilient architectures, optimize resource utilization, and support service onboarding and migrations.
Lead incident response and post-incident reviews; develop and maintain runbooks, playbooks, and operational run procedures to reduce mean time to resolution and drive continuous improvement.
Ensure systems are secure and compliant by implementing hardening standards, access controls, vulnerability management, and collaborating with security stakeholders on risk mitigation.
Develop and maintain configuration and infrastructure documentation, including topology diagrams, deployment patterns, and operating procedures for cross-team consumption.
Automate routine operational tasks and maintenance activities to reduce manual work and improve system reliability and repeatability.
Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization efforts to align infrastructure with business needs and budgetary constraints.
Mentor and collaborate with engineers and operators across teams to share best practices, promote observability, and foster a culture of reliability and operational excellence.
Partner with third-party vendors and cloud providers to evaluate managed services, define integration approaches, and ensure vendor solutions meet operational requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years of systems engineering, site reliability engineering, or infrastructure operations experience supporting distributed systems and services.
Practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and familiarity with core services for networking, compute, storage, and identity.
Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar) and with CI/CD tooling.
Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions and using those signals to drive operational decisions (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK, etc.).
Strong Linux/Unix systems administration skills, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting experience across application, system, and network layers.
Familiarity with security best practices, access management, and operationalizing vulnerability remediation and patching workflows.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to present technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders and document operational procedures clearly.
Experience with container orchestration and service mesh technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Istio) and operationalizing containerized workloads.
Familiarity with networking and security tooling (VPN, firewalls, WAFs, IAM) and experience implementing zero-trust or least-privilege models.
Experience with cost management and resource optimization practices in cloud environments.
Knowledge of database administration, backup/recovery strategies, and data lifecycle management for production systems.
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified, Google Cloud Certified, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or advanced degree are a plus.
Full-time role within a collaborative, cross-functional engineering and operations organization; onsite presence is expected with flexible scheduling options as appropriate.
Competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience, including health coverage, retirement plan options, paid time off, and professional development support.
Opportunities for training, certifications, and career progression in an inclusive and mission-driven organization.
We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and foster a respectful work environment that supports work-life balance and employee well-being.
