Responsibilities
Initiates the planning, developing, implementation and evaluation of recruitment strategies and activities to support the recruitment needs of divisions across the University. Advises departments on HR policies, procedures as well as state and federal regulations related to recruitment and hiring. Recruits, screens and performs reference checks and background checks on qualified candidates in preparation for referral to hiring managers. Conducts interviews for qualified applicants. Makes official offers of appointment, including starting salary within established compensation plans.

Talent Acquisition Specialist
supports the recruiting and hiring needs of divisions across URMC. Acting as a advisor to hiring teams, the Talent Acquisition Specialist also advises on HR policies/procedures, and regulations related to recruitment and hiring processes.
Our Work Is Focused On
Collaboration
: Enhancing the delivery of recruitment services to business units. This involves meeting with department leadership to understand recruitment needs, review work responsibilities and observe the work site.
Critical Thinking
: Creating effective working relationships with management and employees to provide advice on recruitment matters. Providing decision support to hiring managers. Consulting with candidates to learn their experience and preferences, guiding to appropriate job opportunities.
Relationship Building
: This includes developing relationships with community partners for qualified candidates, representing the University at recruitment events in the community, and developing relationships with schools and training programs.
The ideal candidate for the Talent Acquisition Specialist will bring over 2 years of progressive Recruiting or Human Resources experience. A customer service orientation and the ability to think critically, collaborate and communicate effectively is essential.

This role has the option to work remotely and communicate through virtual meetings, giving you flexibility to
plan your day for optimal productivity. Due to the nature of our hybrid work environment, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will be required to live within a reasonable commuting distance to Rochester, NY.
