Build the Workforce Powering Kelso Industries

Kelso Industries is seeking a high-energy, results-driven Talent Acquisition Specialist – Trade & Craft to scale our field workforce across the MEP+ (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and related) trades. This role will primarily support hiring across the Eastern U.S. and is designed as a remote position, with a strong preference for candidates operating within the Eastern Time Zone to ensure alignment with regional leaders and field teams.

This is a hands-on, full-cycle recruiting role for a recruiter who thrives in fast-moving environments, excels at sourcing hard-to-find trade talent, and wants to build scalable recruiting practices that improve speed, quality, and candidate experience across a multi-company platform.

While the core focus is skilled trades and craft hiring, this role will flex into select professional and technical searches as business needs require.

Position Overview

The Talent Acquisition Specialist – Trade & Craft serves as a strategic hiring partner to operating company leaders. This role owns full-cycle recruitment for field and trade positions and collaborates closely with hiring managers to drive effective, timely hiring decisions in competitive labor markets.

This is a fully remote position. Candidates located in the Eastern U.S. or operating within Eastern Time Zone hours are strongly preferred.

Occasional regional travel for hiring events, site visits, and leadership meetings is expected.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting & Sourcing

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for trade, craft, field, and select professional roles - from intake through day 1
  • Develop and execute proactive sourcing strategies across job boards, social platforms, referrals, industry networks, and direct outreach
  • Build and maintain evergreen talent pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill roles
  • Tailor sourcing strategies to local labor markets to effectively “meet talent where they are”
  • Drive urgency and hiring velocity in tight skilled labor markets

Hiring Partnership & Employer Brand Activation

  • Partner with hiring managers to clarify role requirements, define success profiles, and align on hiring timelines
  • Influence effective hiring decisions through data, market insights, and candidate calibration
  • Translate Kelso’s employer value proposition into compelling job postings and outreach messaging
  • Represent Kelso and its operating companies professionally in the marketplace
  • Support regional hiring events, trade fairs, and community outreach efforts

Process, Metrics & Candidate Experience

  • Deliver a high-quality candidate experience through clear communication and consistent follow-through
  • Maintain accurate and timely data in Greenhouse to ensure reporting visibility and compliance
  • Monitor and improve key recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, conversion rates, and hiring manager satisfaction
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and partner with TA leadership to enhance scalability and efficiency

Hiring Execution & Operational Support

  • Coordinate interviews and manage structured interview processes
  • Drive offer management, reference checks, and pre-employment screening coordination
  • Manage multiple requisitions across operating companies while maintaining quality and speed
  • Flex into professional, technical, or corporate recruiting needs as business demand requires

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2–5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience
  • Demonstrated success recruiting skilled trades, craft, construction, industrial, or MEP+ roles strongly preferred
  • Proven strength in proactive sourcing and pipeline development
  • Experience working within an ATS (Greenhouse preferred) and sourcing platforms such as LinkedIn and Indeed
  • Strong stakeholder partnership and influencing skills
  • Highly organized, data-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining strong cross-functional communication

Work Location & Travel

  • Fully remote role
  • Strong preference for candidates located in the Eastern U.S. or operating within Eastern Time Zone hours (preferred locations are Philadelphia, PA or Charlotte, NC)
  • Up to 15% travel within the assigned region expected for hiring events, operating company visits, and leadership meetings

Compensation is targeted @ $70,000 - $85,000
