Position Overview
We’re seeking a
Tax Analyst
to manage compliance and reporting across U.S., Canadian, and international jurisdictions. This role will focus on U.S. sales tax, Canadian GST/HST/PST, payroll tax, 1099 reporting, and intercompany tax planning across our e-commerce, logistics, and manufacturing entities. You’ll work closely with Finance leadership to ensure compliance, efficiency, and scalability as Nysonian continues its rapid growth.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and file U.S. multi-state sales tax returns via Avalara and maintain registration compliance.

File Canadian GST/HST returns with CRA, reconcile input tax credits (ITCs), and manage provincial PST filings.

Manage U.S. federal forms, including payroll and reporting:

Form 941/941-X (payroll taxes)

Form 8822-B (address changes)
-
Forms 1099 and 1099-K (PayPal, Stripe, Shopify, etc.)

Reconcile 1099-K reporting with internal revenue ledgers.

Support tax provisions under IFRS and U.S. GAAP.

Respond to IRS/CRA/state notices and support audits with accurate documentation.

Research tax implications of new cross-border activities (EU incorporation, Mexico warehousing, VAT/GST).

Partner with Finance team to design and enforce tax compliance policies and workflows.
Required
Qualifications & Skills
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation.

2–4 years of tax compliance and reporting experience.

Strong knowledge of U.S. federal/state tax compliance, including 1099/1099-K reporting.

Experience with Canadian GST/HST/PST filings.
-
Familiarity with IFRS and U.S. GAAP.

Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Xero, Avalara, and Excel.

Detail-oriented with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations.
Preferred

Experience in D2C, e-commerce, or consumer products.

Exposure to international tax compliance (Mexico, EU).
