Position Overview

Zahn Law Global is seeking a Tax Associate with 3–5 years of experience to join our growing New York office. This role is designed for a candidate with a strong foundation in tax from a Big 4 accounting firm (required) who is looking to transition into a boutique law firm environment advising clients on complex domestic and international tax matters.

The ideal candidate will bring technical rigor, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, client-focused practice.

Key Responsibilities

Advise clients on a range of federal, state, and international tax matters
Support transactional tax structuring transactions
Conduct tax research and draft memoranda on complex tax issues
Assist with tax controversy matters, including audits and disputes
Collaborate with corporate and finance teams on integrated client matters
Stay current on evolving tax laws and regulatory developments

Qualifications

3–5 years of experience at a Big 4 accounting firm (required)
Admission to the New York Bar (or ability to become admitted) is a plus
J.D. from an accredited law school; strong academic credentials (preferred)
LL.M. in Taxation (preferred)
Demonstrated experience in tax research and technical writing
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Advanced Excel skillset (required)
Power Point presentation expertise

Work Environment

This is a fully in-office position based in our Midtown East location
Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available for this role

Base salary: $120,000 – $150,000, commensurate with experience
