Tax Preparer

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join my team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and tax preparation, with the ability to analyze financial information and provide exceptional customer service. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a solid understanding of financial concepts to assist clients in filing their taxes accurately and efficiently.

Duties

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage to manage financial data effectively.
• Conduct thorough analysis of clients' financial situations to identify potential deductions and credits.
• Provide guidance on tax-related issues, including tax planning strategies and implications of financial decisions.
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications with clients.
• Assist in bookkeeping tasks as needed, ensuring all financial records are up-to-date.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance marketing efforts aimed at attracting new clients.
• Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations to provide the most current advice to clients.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in tax preparation or public accounting is required.
• Strong knowledge of financial concepts, accounting principles, and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage) and financial software applications.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Strong math skills and attention to detail for accurate data entry (10 key typing).
• Previous experience in customer service or sales is preferred, demonstrating strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
