Job Description:

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our EMEA Shared Services Center as a India Tax Lead. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing overall tax compliances including GST, Transfer pricing , tax audit and filing tax return of the company. The position plays a crucial role in putting adequate tax control and ensuring compliance with all tax laws.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct and Indirect Tax Compliances [30%]:

  • Manage tax compliance, GST reporting and filings with tax authorities.
  • Ensure timely Compliances of GST, Withholding tax returns and Corporate tax returns.
  • Ensure timely compliances of Tax audit, Transfer pricing audit and GST annual return/audit.
  • Preparation of Transfer pricing documentation and manage tax assessment of Group companies in India.

Tax Assessment/ Litigation [20%]

  • Liaise with tax authorities and complete income tax assessments, transfer pricing assessment and GST assessment.
  • Ensure timely submissions and reply to notices from tax authorities.
  • Liaise with tax consultants for tax litigation matters and provide required information without any delay.
  • Managing litigation and ensure minimum litigation by timely dispute resolution, up to date completion of assessment /appeals, refunds and submissions

Tax planning [10%]

  • Identification of tax planning opportunities.
  • Ensure and implement appropriate system/processes for tax management.

Tax Advisory [20%]

  • Transaction advisory and structuring for most optimal solution including day to day transactions to optimise tax outflow maintaining high standard of compliance.
  • Act as the key point of contact and support for local and regional taxation matters.

Process Improvement:[10%]

    Support initiatives geared towards process automation from taxation perspective.. Collaborate with IT to enhance ERP systems and other financial reporting tools from taxation perspective.
Compliance & Controls [10%]:

    Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, regulations, and company policies & SOX Reporting. Monitor internal controls to ensure accurate and timely tax filing and reporting. Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial , tax and operational audits. Approve payments for tax, statutory and other vendor payment.
Team Collaboration:

    Work closely with finance and operation teams such as Accounts Payable, Treasury, Plant controller , Sales and Business team to ensure compliance and provide requisite guidance. Support senior R2R Managers , tax heads and the finance leadership in special projects as required. Train and mentor new team members and assist in the employee development process.
Qualifications:

CA with 10-15 years of relevant experience in Direct and Indirect taxation.

Skills:

    Strong understanding of Direct and Indirect tax laws. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel. Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with employees at all levels within the organization. Collaborate with Global and regional team in finance and tax. High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.
