Duties
- Develop and implement dynamic lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards to meet diverse student needs.
- Use instructional design techniques and learning technology tools to enhance classroom engagement and understanding.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support students with disabilities, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, or visual impairments.
- Collaborate with special education teams to develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students requiring tailored support.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement, behavioral therapy techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Conduct assessments, including standardized testing and formative evaluations, to track student progress and inform instruction.
- Provide mentorship, academic advising, and emotional support to foster a nurturing environment conducive to growth.
Skills
- Strong communication skills to clearly convey concepts and collaborate with colleagues, students, and families.
- Expertise in speech therapy, literacy education, math instruction, early childhood education, and preschool experience.
- Proficiency in working with children with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, hearing impairments, or visual impairments.
- Knowledge of behavioral health practices, applied behavior analysis (ABA), recreational therapy, and behavioral management techniques.
- Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, instructional design, tutoring, and standardized testing preparation.
- Familiarity with learning technology platforms and tools used for remote or hybrid instruction.
- Ability to manage classrooms effectively while maintaining a supportive environment that encourages student engagement.
