Ensure a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment while promoting the well-being of children through attentive care and support. This role also involves collaborating with teachers, efficiently managing resources, and adhering to policies to create a positive and effective learning atmosphere in the nursery.
Classroom & Resource Management
- Ensure the classroom is meticulously clean, with prepared activities and a structured approach to managing potty routines.
- Undertake the responsibility of cleaning the classroom at the end of each day, changing boards organizing materials on shelves, and maintaining an orderly learning space.
- Collaborate in the setup of class furniture, contributing to the creation and maintenance of an organized and stimulating environment.
- Report any instances of damaged resources promptly, ensuring swift resolution and maintaining the safety of children's belongings.
- Execute thorough sanitation protocols for toys, contributing to an environment that is not only stimulating but also clean and safe.
- Actively collaborate in the planning of various activities and provide valuable support to teachers across different subjects.
Childcare and Wellbeing
- Monitor and record children's daily activities, including meticulous tracking of meals and restroom breaks.
- Facilitate the children's transition to sleep after class and ensure their basic hygiene needs are met with attention to detail.
- Implement lesson plans and educational activities that support the holistic development of the children.
- Regularly report any concerns or noteworthy progress about the children to the lead teacher while also keeping comprehensive records.
Schedule Management
- · Adhere to the daily schedule, including observing the break times and ensuring availability every day.
- · Stepping in to assist in settling children down for their nap, ensuring a smooth transition as teachers conclude their day.
- · Actively engage in workshops focusing on mothers and women's health, leveraging these opportunities for continuous skill enhancement.
- · Participate in training sessions as required, staying abreast of best practices in early childhoodeducation. Adherence to Policies and Procedures
- · Adhere to all nursery policies and procedures, ensuring a consistent and high standard of care.
- · Diligently follow health and safety guidelines to create an environment that prioritizes the safety and well-being of the children.
- · Build a culture of respect among colleagues and leaders, actively contributing to the maintenance of a positive and collaborative work environment.
- · Accurately record children's information and completion of checklists to uphold the highest standards in childcare.
Educational qualifications (Minimum educational background required to execute the role)
- Certification or diploma in Early childhood education, Montessori education, Elementary education, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in Montessori education, valid teaching certification.
- CDA certification in early childhood education.
- 1 - 3 years’ experience as a preschool or early childhood educator in a Montessori or similar educational setting.
- Teaching Assistant training program or relevant coursework
