Responsibilities
Key Task

Deliver engaging lessons that inspire students and drive strong academic outcomes.

Teamwork and Collaboration

Communicate effectively at all levels within the school community.

Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.

Collaborate with colleagues to plan engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons.

Work closely with parents to ensure student happiness and academic success.

Cooperate with curriculum support staff to assist student development.

Teaching and Learning

Demonstrate a clear understanding of the American Curriculum.

Organize classroom resources and create motivating displays.

Plan and deliver lessons that cater to diverse abilities within the class.

Use enthusiastic and imaginative teaching to engage learners.

Observe and assess student progress in line with school assessments.

Reflect on teaching practices and adapt lessons accordingly.

Collaborate with professionals (e.g., speech therapists, psychologists) when needed.

Embed the Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum.

Assessment and Data

Take responsibility for student progress and development.

Meet all assessment and record-keeping requirements using Target Tracker.

Use assessment data to guide planning, intervention, and differentiation.

Provide regular feedback to parents during Parent-Teacher Conferences and meetings.

Behaviour Management and Duties

Adhere to the school’s behaviour policy.

Manage classes effectively to inspire, motivate, and challenge students.

Maintain positive relationships and model expected attitudes and behaviour.

Promote self-discipline, respect, and independence among learners.

Carry out assigned duties within school policies.

Wider Professional Responsibilities

Participate in curriculum action groups to support planning, assessment, and events.

Contribute to organizing school activities, events, and trips, including those outside regular hours.

Communicate effectively with parents using school systems such as CPOMS.

Positively contribute to the school’s ethos and community life.

Lead at least one weekly Extra-Curricular Activity (ECA) each term
