Teacher - Further Mathematics (A-Levels) - Yasmina British Academy- AY2026/27

Aldar Education are currently seeking an outstanding Teacher of Further Mathematics (A-Levels) for Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing next academic year .

Responsibilities
  • Assist the academy in achieving its vision and strategic targets as set out in the academy's improvement plan and self-evaluation form
  • Comply with health and safety regulations and adhere to academy policies relating to safe working practice and equal opportunities
  • Comply with the academy's Performance Management Policy; set challenging annual targets and fulfill the role of performance management reviewer if directed by the Principal
  • Engage in annual training related to child protection, safeguarding and health and safety, plus any additional training for academy improvement or performance management
  • Attend all staff briefings
  • Create a climate conducive to outstanding learning and teaching
  • Identify clear teaching objectives and specify how they will be taught and assessed
  • Set tasks that challenge students and maintain high levels of interest
  • Set clear targets, building on prior attainment
  • Identify SEN or very able students
  • Provide clear structures for lessons, maintaining pace, motivation and challenge
  • Make effective use of assessment and ensure coverage of programmes of study
  • Use performance data and key indicators to inform planning and deliver differentiated learning matched to need
  • Ensure effective teaching and best use of available time
  • Maintain an effective learning environment in accordance with academy procedures; encourage punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to tailor approach to content, structure information, present key ideas and use appropriate vocabulary
  • Use effective questioning, listen to students, address errors and misconceptions
  • Select appropriate learning resources and develop study skills through library, ICT and other learning technologies
  • Ensure students acquire and consolidate knowledge, skills and understanding appropriate to the subject
  • Evaluate own teaching to improve effectiveness
  • Mark and monitor students' work and set targets for progress
  • Assess and record students' progress systematically; keep records to check understanding, monitor strengths and areas for development, inform planning and recognise level of achievement
  • Undertake assessment of students as required by examination bodies, departmental and academy procedures
  • Prepare and present informative reports to parents
  • Participate in subject or academy work and develop plans with clear targets and success criteria
  • Contribute to the whole academy's visioning activities
  • Strive to give every child the opportunity to reach their potential and meet high expectations
  • Co-operate with staff to share and optimise resources for the benefit of the academy, department and students
  • Contribute to the academy's corporate life through participation in meetings and governance tasks to coordinate leadership and management
  • Take part in marketing and liaison activities such as Open evenings/afternoons, Parent-Teacher Consultations, and partner academy events
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or other relevant field with a teaching qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching specialist subject up to GCSE and A Level
