Duties

  • Assist lead teachers in planning and executing engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.
  • Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to children with diverse needs, including those with autism or disabilities, ensuring they receive personalized support.
  • Help supervise children during activities such as playtime, meals, nap time, and outdoor recess to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Facilitate early childhood education activities that promote development in areas such as language skills, motor skills, and social interaction.
  • Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that fosters learning and safety for all students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor progress and communicate effectively about each child's development and needs.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school settings, or similar environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles such as Montessori or toddler care is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with special education techniques and working with individuals with autism or disabilities is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to assist in lesson planning and curriculum development tailored to young learners’ needs.
  • Experience in classroom management and behavior management strategies to create a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Completed the required college coursework in Early Childhood Education (ECE) for the specified classes in order to be considered for the role and/or hold an Assistant Permit or Higher with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)

Pay: $17.75 - $20.25 per hour
