Teaching Assistant

East Greenbush CSD is accepting applications for a 1.0 Probationary Tenure Track Teaching Assistant. The position is 6.5 hours per day, 10 months per year. The position is to work with students or groups to support their understanding of the curriculum; support students with social-emotional and management needs; support students with ADLs and self-help skills, or with the use of assistive technology or augmentative communication devices; provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to students for the purpose of re-teaching and review. Assist with classroom management, including implementation of behavior management plans; provide instructional assistance or support in a computer lab, classroom or other instructional location under the direct supervision of a teacher. This position is in a K-2 Communication Skills classroom. The ideal candidate is patient, flexible, and eager to support young learners with diverse communication needs.

Job Qualifications

Candidates MUST hold valid New York State Teaching Assistant or Classroom Teacher Certification.
