Team Lead Sea Freight

Intercargo Logistics SMC-Private Limited is a freight forwarding company which is offering one point solution to customers across the world. We for now are looking to fill in the position of Sea Freight Team Lead for our branch office based in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Job Timing: 12:30 PM - 9:30 PM (Summers) / 1:30 PM-10:30 PM (Winters)

Location: 2nd Floor, OneExpressway, Gulberg Greens Interchange, Islamabad

Job Description

Department Leadership & Ownership

Lead and take full ownership of all sea freight import and export operations, ensuring smooth end-to-end shipment management.

Team Supervision & Development

Manage, mentor, and guide team members to ensure efficiency, accountability, and continuous performance improvement.

End-to-End Shipment Control

Oversee shipments from quote approval to final delivery, ensuring timely execution with minimal escalation.

Booking & System Management

Manage all sea freight bookings in CargoWise for FCL and LCL shipments in compliance with applicable regulations.

Documentation Oversight

Ensure accurate preparation and timely finalization of shipping documents, including Bills of Lading and pre-alerts.

Customs Compliance

Supervise and ensure accurate filing of import/export customs declarations in line with regulatory requirements.

Shipment Tracking & Coordination

Monitor shipment status and coordinate with shipping lines, agents, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

Client Communication & Service

Maintain proactive communication with clients, addressing queries and providing timely updates on shipments.

Billing & Cost Control

Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, while maintaining cost-effective shipment handling.

Operational Improvement & Issue Resolution

Identify process improvements and resolve operational challenges to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements;

1. The ideal candidate for this position comes with good understanding and hands on experience minimum 4-Years of dealing with sea shipment tasks;

2. He/She should be completely familiar with the Incoterms, their use and the procedures linked to same for handling of different shipments;

3. The candidate should come with the basic industrial knowledge on how to handle the shipment in different modes of transportation through a freight forwarder perspective;

4. The candidate should be having exposure to both the LCL and FCL shipments;

5. Strong communication skills with command over English is highly desired with proficiency in outlook-based email coordination;

Salary: PKR 100,000 to 120,000 (depending upon the experience and demonstrated/proven skills)

Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business management or any related discipline;

Extraordinary English fluency with strong written communication and interpersonal skills to deal with customer service;

Advanced ability to work comfortably with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
