About the Role
This role exists for one reason: to increase conversions, revenue, and consistency across the travel sales team.
As a Team Lead – Travel Sales, you will manage a team of Travel Sales Consultants handling inbound leads from our website and organic channels. You are expected to lead from the front — closing deals yourself while ensuring your team performs, follows process, and hits targets.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Discipline
- Lead and manage a team of Travel Sales Consultants with strict enforcement of CRM hygiene, daily activity tracking, follow-ups, and discipline across all sales processes.
Performance Monitoring
- Track individual and team KPIs including calls, follow-ups, conversion ratios, revenue, and closures on a daily and monthly basis to ensure target achievement.
Sales Coaching & Quality Control
- Conduct regular call audits, one-on-one feedback sessions, and sales coaching to improve pitch quality, objection handling, and closing effectiveness.
Revenue Ownership
- Own team-level revenue and conversion targets, personally managing high-value, complex, or escalated bookings to maximize closures and profitability.
Lead & Funnel Management
- Ensure zero lead leakage by monitoring inbound inquiries, lead allocation, response TATs, and follow-up consistency across the team.
Sales Execution Oversight
- Oversee end-to-end sales execution including quotations, itineraries, documentation, visas, and coordination with operations to ensure seamless booking fulfillment.
Customer Escalation Handling
- Handle customer escalations professionally, ensuring quick resolution, service recovery, and high customer satisfaction post-booking.
Data Analysis & Optimization
- Analyze sales data, customer behavior, and market trends to optimize scripts, pitches, pricing strategies, and follow-up processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Share actionable sales insights with marketing and leadership teams to improve lead quality, campaigns, and overall business performance.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in travel sales (flights).
- At least 1–2 years of team handling experience in a travel sales environment.
- Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Hands-on experience with CRM systems and booking tools
- (Amadeus / Galileo / Sabre is a plus)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and people-management skills.
- Highly organized, data-driven, and comfortable working under pressure.
- Willingness to work weekends or peak travel seasons when required.
