Job Description:
The Site Team Leader assists the Site Manager in supervising assigned crews to ensure effective preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, backlog reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role focuses on achieving high equipment availability and reliability through strong planning, monitoring, and condition-based maintenance practices - all while fostering a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence.
1. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
Champion a strong culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility.
Implement and sustain the 5S program across all work areas.
Promote proactive Take 5 / SHE reporting.
Enforce workplace and workshop housekeeping standards.
Minimize oil leaks/spills and ensure proper containment to prevent environmental contamination.
Comply with and enforce all HSE policies and procedures of both Epiroc and the customer.
2. Planning & Budgeting
Review and align monthly forecasts, maintenance plans, and budgets with operational goals.
Monitor adherence to equipment maintenance plans, identify non-conformances, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Prepare and review non-conformance reports for components not meeting target life.
Approve and sign Work Orders to validate supervision and job completion accuracy.
3. Continuous Improvement
Exhibit leadership behaviors consistent with Epiroc's values to build trust and engagement.
Drive continuous improvement through Kaizen initiatives, encouraging innovation in work processes.
Support and participate in productivity and reliability improvement projects.
4. Client Focus
Develop and maintain proactive, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure services delivered are aligned with contractual obligations and Epiroc operational guidelines.
Promote transparency and collaboration with the customer to strengthen long-term partnerships.
5. Technical Excellence
Ensure maintenance activities adhere to Epiroc standards, OEM recommendations, and industry best practices.
Encourage use of innovative technologies and advanced diagnostic tools for fault detection and component life optimization.
Actively participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM), and Asset Optimization (AO) activities to improve reliability and reduce downtime
Drive quality workmanship and technical competence within the team.
6. People Management & Development
Lead, coach, and develop a motivated and high-performing team.
Conduct regular on-the-job and off-the-job training to build technical and safety competencies.
Implement succession planning through performance reviews and development plans.
Manage team conflicts constructively and promote a positive work culture.
Qualification, Skills and Experience:
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience managing a team of at least 30 technicians/tradespeople.
Technical Skills:
Trained in Epiroc equipment such as underground drill machines, MCR, Cabletech, and passenger carriers, with sound knowledge of RCS and Certiq systems.
Exposure to large contract environments and reliability engineering practices.
Working knowledge of RCA, CBM, and AO processes.
