Responsible to bridge the gap between business objectives and technical execution. Supports a digital product development team by collaborating with product, engineering, design, and other business stakeholders to gather and clarify product and system requirements. Turns those requirements into clear and accurate documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria. The primary focus will be mobile and web applications, however, may support other technology projects as business needs evolve.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partners with product, design, and engineering teams to understand the current state of systems, services, and user experiences.
Facilitates discovery and requirements gathering; documents user journeys, process and data flows, and system interactions.
Collaborates with product design team to support the inclusion of user research and user feedback in the discovery process, when applicable. Documents relevant insights to inform product decisions and requirements definition.
Leads the documentation of business and technical requirements. Translates business needs into clear epics and user stories.
Defines and maintains acceptance criteria that supports development and validation of features.
Leads or contributes to backlog grooming and refinement meetings.
Identifies and documents internal and external dependencies, edge cases, risks, assumptions, decisions, and stakeholder impacts.
Conducts validation testing of developed features to ensure alignment with requirements prior to formal QA review.
Tracks changes to scope and supports prioritization with input from Product Owner.
Performs other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required, assigned, and directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related equivalent job experience.
Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst supporting digital products or enterprise technology initiatives. Experience working with agile teams on web and/or mobile application development is required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Strong understanding of user stories, backlog management, and iterative delivery practices.
Experience writing functional and non-functional requirements, including system behavior, performance expectations, accessibility standards, and error handling.
Ability to synthesize input from multiple stakeholders into clear documentation.
Ability to model business processes and system flows using tools such as flowcharts, wireframes, and diagrams.
Familiarity with REST APIs, system integrations, and platform architecture.
Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Figma, Lucid, or equivalent.
Experience with functional testing or quality assurance is a plus.
Familiarity with JSON, API payloads, and schema documentation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
Proficient knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office 365 (i.e., Word, Excel).
Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to hear/speak clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to operate a computer keyboard.

The range for this position is $117,500 - $164,500 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we may apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
