Job Summary And Purpose
The
Technical Coordinator – Lifting Gear Store
is responsible for the efficient functioning and management of the lifting gear store, including the coordination of periodic third-party certification for lifting gears and equipment. The role ensures that all lifting equipment operations meet high-quality and auditable standards consistent with the company’s Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and policies. This position demands strong technical expertise, proactive problem-solving, and effective supervision of technical teams and subcontractors.
Key Accountabilities

Develop a deep understanding of the yard’s maintenance strategy and support the Head of Maintenance in translating it into actionable short- and medium-term plans.

Maintain and ensure the availability and proper functioning of all lifting gears managed under the lifting gear store.

Coordinate with end users and relevant departments to ensure timely third-party certification of all lifting and marine equipment.

Verify, record, and maintain documentation of all third-party certificates.

Manage inventory of lifting gears and oversee the scrapping of non-repairable items in accordance with established procedures.

Prepare and manage spare parts inventory required for maintenance activities.

Assist the Head of Maintenance in developing strategies to minimize equipment failure and enhance maintenance KPIs.

Supervise subcontractors to ensure compliance with contractual scope and safety standards.

Lead and oversee maintenance technicians, ensuring effective task allocation and performance monitoring.

Prepare risk assessments and apply for necessary work permits.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records.

Communicate training needs, suggest process improvements, and follow up on implementation.

Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks effectively, considering resource availability.

Ensure adherence to company values, policies, standards, and legal requirements.

Uphold health, safety, security, and environmental standards for self and team.

Ensure compliance with quality management systems to deliver high-quality services and products.

Report any safety lapses and monitor yard facilities, escalating concerns to the Head of Maintenance.

Take corrective actions as defined in the IMS where necessary.

Achieve performance indicators as defined in the Quality Policy and Objectives Matrix.

Ensure SAP Module updates and records are maintained as per schedule.

Monitor department budgets and highlight any deviations.
-
Oversee and evaluate approved subcontractor performance.

Provide leadership during monthly section review meetings.
-
Support the execution of daily operations to ensure maintenance plans are achieved.

Provide timely updates and data inputs for internal decision-making and performance reviews.

Foster collaboration between maintenance, operations, and support functions to align with high-performance culture goals.

Promote and model a strong safety culture within the team.
-
Ensure achievement of key performance indicators and address performance issues promptly.

Apply technical expertise to ensure safe, efficient, and effective resource utilization in line with Section Plans and KPIs.

Drive adherence to quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction and service excellence.

Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Prioritize personal and team wellbeing by adhering to health and safety protocols, participating in wellness programs, and promptly reporting concerns.
Qualifications
Education:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
in lifting gear management, maintenance, or related industrial operations.
