Job Purpose
Reporting into the Development Director, the
Technical Director
will be responsible for providing overall technical leadership for a large-scale masterplanned community. The role will oversee all technical and design disciplines across the masterplan, ensuring design integrity, technical compliance, constructability, and alignment with the project vision, development strategy, and delivery objectives.

, and the ability to lead complex masterplan developments from early concept through detailed design and into delivery support.
Key Accountabilities:

Provide technical oversight across all design disciplines, ensuring architectural quality, technical robustness, and alignment with the approved masterplan vision and development objectives.

Lead, manage, and coordinate multi-disciplinary consultant teams including architecture, urban design, landscape, civil, structural, MEP, infrastructure, utilities, and sustainability.

Establish and manage technical governance processes, design reviews, and approval gateways across all masterplan and development parcels.

Act as the primary technical interface between the consultants, authorities, and utility providers to ensure coordinated decision-making and timely approvals.

Ensure all designs comply with local authority regulations, planning requirements, codes, and standards. Oversee preparation, review, and submission of technical and planning documentation.

Monitor design budgets, consultant scopes, deliverables, and schedules. Support procurement, appointment, and management of design consultants, including review of variations.

Identify technical and design-related risks and implement mitigation measures. Ensure constructability, value engineering, and alignment with construction and phasing strategies.
Qualifications, Experience, Core Competencies

Bachelor’s degree in
Architecture
(mandatory).

Master’s degree preferred (Architecture, Urban Design, or Project Management).

15+ years of experience in architectural design, technical leadership, or development roles.

Proven experience working
directly for a Developer
on large-scale masterplanned communities or mixed-use developments.

Demonstrated experience managing
multi-disciplinary consultant teams

Strong understanding of regional planning regulations, building codes, infrastructure coordination, and sustainability frameworks.

Prior experience in the Middle East is strongly preferred.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Strong technical judgement with the ability to balance design quality, cost, program, and constructability.

Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a complex, fast-paced masterplan environment.
