We are seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to monitor, support, and optimize the critical trading infrastructure that powers Xantium's operations. In a highly visible role, you will be working closely with our Engineering and Trading teams and directly contributing to the stability, performance, and reliability of the platform.
We are looking for a multi-faceted operations engineer who is willing and able to pick up new challenges. We are looking to hire someone in Hawaii.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Provide primary technical support to the trading systems through proactively monitoring, investigating and resolving production issues

Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors/exchanges/brokers to manage connectivity, integrations and system changes

Contribute to automating daily tasks and extending the monitoring and observability tools to help investigate issues and identify improvements

Collaborate with technical teams to optimise system performance and manage the change control process

Own the end-to-end incident management, ensuring best-practice response and driving post-incident reviews to identify and deliver preventative actions

Create documentation, build runbooks and automate actions to mitigate future incidents
Requirements:

3+ years experience supporting trading systems

Comprehensive working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments with exposure to Bash scripting

Foundational understanding of core trading concepts and workflows (orders, executions, allocations, FIX messages, market data)

Strong problem-solving ability with an interest in troubleshooting technical issues

Effective communication skills, with the ability to manage priorities under pressure

Demonstrated skill in Python and Bash for task automation

Working knowledge of FIX protocol and exchange connectivity

Basic networking familiarity, including TCP/IP, multicast, DNS and network troubleshooting tools

Proficiency in SQL including query construction and experience making changes to databases

Knowledge of common monitoring tools, metric collection and log scanners
