Technical Product Engineer

VeevoNix (a subsidiary of Veevo Tech) is engaged in research and manufacturing across electronic and energy segment products. ChargeX — a 10+ year LFP-based power storage battery, designed & built from scratch with custom built firmware, a touchscreen HMI, Hardware PCBs, and a cloud monitoring platform, LFP based storage chemistry and the electronics to hold it all together — is the first product built on this foundation, and it will not be the last.

The Technical Product Engineer closes this gap. You will develop deep, genuine expertise in the ChargeX product — firmware, BMS, cloud platform, touchscreen, and the web/mobile portals — to the point where you can sit in a room with a customer or an EPC partner and answer their toughest technical question without needing to "check with engineering." You will also be the person who decides, evaluates, and specs what ChargeX builds next, working closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure everything is implemented in line with existing architecture, protocols, and standards.

This is a senior, high-trust role that sits between four functions — Sales, Customer Experience, Engineering, and the market itself. You are the translation layer that makes all four work together coherently.

Core responsibilities:

Customer & sales-facing technical ownership

  • Join customer, EPC partner, and corporate/B2B sales meetings whenever a technical or solution-fit question is expected
  • Own the technical narrative in the sales cycle — system sizing logic, firmware capability, cloud platform features, competitive differentiation
  • Translate customer and market requirements into clear, scoped product requirements for engineering
  • Act as the first point of technical escalation for Sales and Customer Experience — resolve what you can directly, route what you can't to the right engineer
  • Build and maintain a technical FAQ and objection-handling playbook for the sales team, updated as the product evolves
  • Support the Pre-Sales Technical Consultant on complex proposals where deep product knowledge is required

Product ownership & roadmap

  • Own the ChargeX product roadmap — firmware features, cloud platform capabilities, web portal, and mobile app
  • Write clear product specs and requirement documents for every new feature, evaluated against existing architecture, firmware protocols, and cloud API contracts before handoff to engineering
  • Prioritise the roadmap based on customer feedback, sales pipeline needs, competitive pressure, and engineering capacity — in coordination with the CTO
  • Run a structured intake process for feature requests from Sales, Customer Experience, and partners — triage, evaluate, and either schedule, defer, or reject with clear reasoning
  • Own final sign-off that any new feature or change aligns with existing specs, protocols, and safety standards before it ships
  • Maintain a public-facing (internal) product changelog so the whole company knows what shipped and when

Web portal & mobile app ownership

  • Own the product experience and roadmap for the ChargeX customer web dashboard and mobile app
  • Define UX requirements and feature priorities for the customer-facing cloud monitoring interface
  • Work with the Backend Engineer on API and data requirements needed to support portal/app features
  • Review and approve all portal/app releases before they go live — functionality, usability, and accuracy of battery data displayed
  • Track portal/app usage and engagement data — identify friction points and underused features

Engineering coordination

  • Work daily with the Engineering Manager to ensure the roadmap translates into properly scoped sprint work
  • Participate in sprint planning and review as the voice of the customer and the market
  • Validate that shipped features match the original spec and actually solve the customer or sales problem they were built for
  • Flag any proposed engineering shortcut or scope change that could affect the customer-facing experience or product quality
  • Maintain close enough technical fluency in firmware, cloud, and hardware fundamentals to have credible, specific conversations with every engineer on the team

Technical & market research

  • Continuously research the residential and commercial energy storage market — competitor products, new BMS technologies, cell chemistry advances, firmware trends
  • Benchmark ChargeX against competitors (Phoenix, Volta, Inverex, Pylontech, BYD, and others) on features, cloud capability, and user experience
  • Evaluate new technologies for potential adoption — new cell chemistries, communication protocols, HMI approaches — and present recommendations to the CTO with a clear cost/benefit case
  • Attend industry exhibitions, webinars, and supplier briefings to stay current on solar and battery storage innovation
  • Produce a quarterly competitive and technology landscape brief for leadership

Essential

  • 1-3 years of experience in product management, technical pre-sales, or a hybrid engineering/product role
  • Strong technical foundation — comfortable understanding firmware, BMS, cloud/IoT architecture, and web/mobile product concepts even without writing production code
  • Proven experience presenting technical solutions directly to customers or in sales-support settings
  • Ability to write clear, unambiguous product specs that engineers can build from without back-and-forth
  • Strong research instincts — comfortable tracking industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technology independently
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Urdu — equally credible with engineers, salespeople, and customers
  • Islamabad-based, with willingness to travel for customer meetings and industry events

Preferred

  • Background in energy storage, solar, IoT hardware, or a comparable connected-hardware product
  • Engineering degree (Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering) or equivalent hands-on technical background
  • Prior experience owning a web or mobile product roadmap
  • Familiarity with battery safety standards (IEC 61960-3, UN38.3) and Pakistan's PSQCA certification landscape
