Pre-Sales Engineer / Technical Sales Specialist – Cybersecurity

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pre-Sales Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. In this role, you will serve as the technical bridge between our sales organization and prospective customers, demonstrating how our security solutions address complex enterprise challenges. You will work closely with account executives to drive revenue growth while building trusted advisor relationships with technical stakeholders and decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Sales Support

You will lead technical discovery sessions with prospects to understand their security architecture, pain points, and business objectives. This includes delivering compelling product demonstrations tailored to customer environments, responding to RFPs and RFIs with accurate technical content, and developing proof-of-concept deployments that showcase solution value. You will also conduct competitive analysis and position our solutions against alternative offerings in the market.

  • Solution Architecture

You will design and propose security architectures incorporating Next-Generation Firewall, Intrusion Prevention System, Endpoint Detection and Response, Antivirus, and Extended Detection and Response capabilities. This involves creating technical proposals, reference architectures, and integration roadmaps while collaborating with customers’ IT and security teams to ensure proposed solutions align with their infrastructure and compliance requirements.

  • Customer Engagement

You will serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, from initial engagement through close. Responsibilities include presenting at customer workshops, webinars, and industry events, building relationships with CISOs, security architects, SOC managers, and network engineers, and providing post-sale handoff to implementation teams with detailed technical documentation.

  • Internal Collaboration

You will partner with product management to communicate customer feedback and market requirements, work alongside marketing to develop technical collateral, case studies, and solution briefs, mentor junior pre-sales team members, and maintain current knowledge of product roadmap and upcoming capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience

Candidates should have 5–8 years of experience in technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or security engineering roles within the cybersecurity industry. A proven track record of supporting complex enterprise sales cycles with high value deals, along with hands-on experience deploying and managing security solutions for PoC/Demo environments.

  • Technical Expertise

Deep working knowledge is required across the following domains:

  • Network Security: Next-Generation Firewalls including application-aware filtering, SSL/TLS inspection, user identity integration, and policy management. Intrusion Prevention Systems covering signature-based and behavioral detection, tuning methodologies, and false positive management.
  • Endpoint Security: Endpoint Detection and Response platforms including threat hunting, behavioral analysis, and incident investigation workflows. Traditional and next-generation antivirus solutions encompassing signature engines, heuristics, and machine learning-based detection.
  • Security Operations: Extended Detection and Response architectures, including cross-domain correlation, automated response playbooks, and integration with SIEM/SOAR platforms. Understanding of SOC workflows, alert triage, and incident response processes.
  • Infrastructure: Familiarity with virtualization platforms, cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), and hybrid deployment models. Knowledge of network protocols, routing/switching, and segmentation strategies.
  • Skills

Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and executive audiences are essential. Experience with lab environments for demonstrations and proof-of-concept builds is required, along with proficiency in creating technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and proposals. Strong problem-solving abilities and comfort navigating ambiguous or evolving customer requirements round out the required skillset.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant industry certifications are highly valued, including CISSP, CISM, CEH, or Security+, as well as vendor-specific certifications from Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Cisco, or similar platforms. Experience in specific verticals such as financial services, healthcare, government, or critical infrastructure is advantageous. Familiarity with compliance frameworks including PCI-DSS, HIPAA, NIST, and ISO 27001 strengthens a candidate’s profile.
