Technical SEO Specialist

We are looking for a Technical SEO Specialist who is passionate about scaling discoverability through cutting-edge search engine optimization strategies, including on AI-powered search engines.

As a Technical SEO Specialist at Cloudways, the managed hosting division of DigitalOcean, you will be joining a dynamic growth team dedicated to helping audiences discover and connect with our content assets online. You will work closely with engineering, product, and content teams to ensure DigitalOcean’s web properties perform at the highest technical SEO and GEO (generative AI engine optimization) performance standards. Your work will help millions of developers, startups, and businesses easily discover DigitalOcean resources and solutions across traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven search experiences.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct deep technical SEO audits across the Cloudways website, developer documentation, Knowledge Base and community resources.
• Collaborate with engineering to implement SEO best practices into code, site architecture, and CMS.
• As the owner of our GA4 instance, optimize crawlability, indexation, internal linking, and site hierarchy at scale.
• Improve Core Web Vitals, site speed, and mobile-first performance across properties.
• Manage robots.txt, XML sitemaps, canonicalization, redirects, hreflang, and schema markup. Conduct log file analysis to optimize crawl budget and server efficiency.
• Implement and refine structured data (JSON-LD, Schema.org) to enhance visibility in SERPs.
• Ensure Cloudways content is surfaced across AI-powered search (Google SGE, Bing Copilot, ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.) by optimizing for semantic relevance, LLM indexing, and generative answers.
• Partner with growth and content teams to align semantic SEO strategies with DigitalOcean’s developer-first content ecosystem.
• Explore AI and automation tools for anomaly detection, large-scale issue resolution, and SEO monitoring.
• Monitor algorithm updates, competitive landscape, and emerging search behaviors to drive proactive improvements.

What You’ll Add To DigitalOcean

• 5+ years of hands-on technical SEO experience, ideally in SaaS, cloud, or developer-focused businesses.
• Deep understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and their impact on SEO.
• Expertise with Google Search Console, GA4, and Tag Manager.
• Proficiency with SEO/GEO management tools: Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, DeepCrawl, Sitebulb, Profound, etc.
• Experience with headless CMS, CDNs, and SSR/CSR frameworks.
• Familiarity with log file analysis, structured data, and international SEO (hreflang).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
• A growth mindset with adaptability, curiosity, and a drive to experiment and learn.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AI-driven search and LLM discoverability optimization.
• Familiarity with Python or SQL for SEO data analysis and automation.
• Prior experience in enterprise-level SEO for large content ecosystems.
• Google Analytics and/or SEO certifications.

Pay: Rs20,000.00 - Rs30,000.00 per month
