Technical Support Assistant for Music Instrument Manufacturer (Part Time)

Job Summary

We are an up and coming musical manufacturer seeking a detail-oriented and customer focused part-time Technical Support Assistant to help manage day to day service operations. This role supports the Support Manager by assisting with customer communication, warranty processing, returns management, and inventory related tasks.

The ideal candidate is very familiar with musical gear, organized, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast paced technical environment.

We are looking for a musician specifically to fill this role, as the role requires using and having a deep understanding of musical instruments and gear.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer and dealer inquiries via phone, email, and assigned help desk tickets
  • Provide basic warranty support and troubleshooting for instruments and related products; escalate complex issues to the Support Manager
  • Process and track incoming returns (RMA intake) and update customers on status
  • Prepare replacement units and outgoing shipments
  • Track warranty and defective returns and data
  • Clean, inspect, test, and repackage B-Stock instruments and accessories
  • Maintain an organized service workspace
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the service department

Qualifications

  • Must be a musician and have a technical understanding of musical gear.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow processes and escalate issues appropriately
  • Ability to lift and move large packages up to 60lbs as needed
  • Familiarity with Excel, Google Sheets, or other data tracking tools.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior customer service experience
  • Basic technical troubleshooting experience (musical gear/instruments)
  • Experience with shipping/receiving processes and data collection

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 per week
