Technical Writer/Administrative Assistant

We have been providing planning, design, and construction services to municipalities and private enterprises for the past 50 years. Hakanson Anderson is a 100% Employee-Owned Company. We value integrity, innovation, and results-oriented team members. We are seeking a full time Technical Writer/ Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position requires Monday – Friday with 40 hours per week onsite.

Technical Writing and Word Processing

A significant amount of time in this position is developing and maintaining technical documentation including technical specification correspondence, engineering reports, memoranda, notices, contracts, minutes, ordinances, resolutions. The candidate will require judgement as to content, accuracy, and completeness.

General Marketing

The ideal candidate would be able to read, review and extrapolate the key criteria for project related request for proposals, including determining deadlines, and gather information required to prepare a draft proposal for review. This person is responsible for writing content, with input from Project Managers, proofreading, and submitting proposals on time. The candidate would also maintain standards for branding, readability, consistency, and tone. Post content on company website and social media. Work with firm principals on marketing plans.

Administrative Assistant duties

Answer phones and greet clients while Office Assistant is out. Assist in filing duties as necessary.

Position Requirements

· 1-3 years of technical writing experience or equivalent education.

· Experience working in the engineering or architect industry preferred.

· Advanced level of proficiency in document authoring tools as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat and other related software.

· Strong verbal, written communication, proofreading skills and project management skills.

· Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects.
