Technician 1, HVAC

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating a team of HVAC technicians in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC and mechanical systems. The role focuses on ensuring reliability, energy efficiency, and guest comfort while maintaining equipment such as heat exchangers, pumps, AHUs, FAHUs, FCUs, exhaust systems, BMS, and ventilation systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide technicians in daily HVAC operations and maintenance.
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot heat exchangers, chilled/hot water pumps, AHUs, FAHUs, FCUs, exhaust fans, BMS controls, and ventilation systems.
• Plan and execute preventive and condition-based maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure proper operation of BMS alarms, setpoints, and energy optimization functions.
• Lead shutdowns, isolations, and equipment servicing with minimal disruption to operations.
• Train and mentor junior technicians on HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and safety practices.
• Maintain proper records of works performed, refrigerant usage, and energy performance.
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards including PPE usage.
• Provide leadership support during emergencies such as HVAC breakdowns affecting guest or operational areas.
• Coordinate with other facilities disciplines (electrical, plumbing, civil) for integrated maintenance works.
• Maintain calibration of tools, meters, and instruments used for HVAC operations.
