Technician - Building Maintenance

Summer Student

Reports To: Yard Manager

Classification: Hourly

Required Work Schedule: 7:00am-3:30pm

Job Summary:

The Summer Student position is responsible for maintaining the yard/lawn/grounds by performing regular and directed grounds landscape maintenance. Mowing/Maintaining lawns: riding or push mowers, trimming, and edging around, shrubs, ground cover, sidewalks, and building. Painting floors, walls, handrails. Sweeping, cleaning, organizing.

Job Duties:

Follows all safety rules and adheres to all administrative rules and guards.

Machines, tools and equipment operated by the Summer Student position:

Including but not limited to: broom, shovel, rake, hoses, grabber, lawn mower, weed whacker, ladders.

Stands/Walks-8 hours

Pushes/Pulls- 10-25 pounds frequently

Lifts/Carries- 10-50 pounds frequently

Simple grasping both hands- frequently

Pushing/Pulling both hands- frequently

Bends at waist- frequently

Squats- frequently

Climbs Stairs- frequently

Climbs Ladders-occasionally

Kneels on ground- occasionally

Reaching-Above Shoulder-occasionally

Balance-Must maintain balance for hillside weed whacking and mowing

Environmental Factors:

Is exposed to temperature changes, works outdoors as well as indoors, dampness, paper dust, and uneven walking working surfaces.

PPE:

Safety-toed work shoes or boots, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or the equivalent
