Technician – MEP Hotel

Scope of work (JOB PURPOSE)

As part of the park maintenance department’s shift team, the role involves performing safe and effective engineering maintenance and statutory inspections of kitchen equipment, refrigeration systems, laundry equipment, and related machinery. This includes implementing a planned preventative maintenance approach to ensure compliance with safety regulations, maximize equipment availability, minimize downtime, and maintain optimal operational safety and reliability.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for the Maintenance of Kitchen, Laundry and Refrigeration equipment’s within the Resort.
• To work as an operational engineer carrying out, planned preventative maintenance, unplanned maintenance and safety checks.
• To attend equipment breakdowns in a timely manner and to ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with departmental procedures (SSOW).
• To carry a radio/Duty Phone to enable communication between colleagues and other department representatives as appropriate.
• To assist the department’s managerial team and charge hands as and when required to fulfil the department’s KPI’s, objectives and function.
• To ensure written documentation relating to maintenance works are accurate.
• To ensure that completion of PPM documentation in a timely manner in line with department procedures.
• To maintain and keep in good condition the tool’s provided to enable professional and competent completion of maintenance tasks .
• To Operate, calibrate, maintain, and properly document the maintenance activity of kitchen equipment’s.
• To develop professional and considerate relationships with both other departments and external suppliers and consultants.
• To assist other departments as and when required to support the operation of the park.
• To follow all the Food hygiene and Safety compliance of the Resort for persons working in kitchen area to meet all government regulations.
• To undertake additional responsibility as directed by the department management team following appropriate instruction/training.

• To take reasonable care for the health and safety of himself and of other persons who may be affected through your work activities.
• To cooperate with and support the LEGOLAND Dubai Management to allow the business to fulfill its legal responsibilities through:
• Following reasonable instruction related to health & safety.
• Reporting dangerous situations or deficiencies in health & safety arrangements.
• To only use work equipment in accordance with training.
• To not interfere or misuse anything provided for the purposes for health & safety.

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills

Required Qualifications:

• Qualified to at least C&G level 3, or approved equivalent, in either mechanical or electrical engineering supplemented by at least 2 years’ experience of working in ideally a theme park environment, or other Hospitality Facilities as a multiskilled Technician (Kitchen, Refrigeration and Laundry).

Job-Specific Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of Kitchen Equipment’s (Dishwasher’s, Electric Pizza oven, Combination Oven, Microwave oven, Electric Deep fat fryer, Electric Rotisseries), Refrigeration Equipment’s (Cold room’s, Freezers and chillers, Ice machine) and laundry Equipment’s.
• Ideally a working knowledge of DM, DEWA, DCD and HACCP requirements.
• A full working knowledge of appropriate engineering related statutory requirements e.g. certification and safe use of lifting equipment, C.O.S.H.H., safe use and written schemes of pressure vessels, general responsibilities for the maintenance of a Safe Working Environment under the Health & Safety at Work Act etc.
• Ability to read blueprints and control drawings.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions, heights, and confined spaces, and lift heavy equipment as required.
• Problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.
