Purpose

Specialist Technology Mobile Financial Services is responsible for supporting the technical delivery, stability, and scalability of MFS platforms. The role ensures timely execution of system enhancements, integration with partners, and proactive monitoring of platform performance. Acting as a key bridge between business, product, operations, and technical teams, the role contributes to maintaining high service availability, ensuring compliance with security standards, and enabling seamless user experiences across digital financial channels.

Role Accountabilities

  • Technical Scoping & Requirements Definition:

Engage with business and product teams to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications, ensuring feasibility and alignment with existing MFS architecture.

  • Solution Architecture & Design Documentation:

Collaborate with internal development teams, vendors and system integrators to design end-to-end solutions. Prepare detailed design documents covering integration touchpoints, APIs, data flows, security, and performance considerations.

  • Technical Delivery Governance:

Manage and monitor the delivery lifecycle for assigned initiatives — from design through deployment, ensuring adherence to architecture principles, quality standards, and committed timelines.

  • Deployment & Go-Live Coordination:

Lead technical readiness and deployment activities across development, staging, and production environments. Ensure stable rollouts with minimal customer impact and provide post-deployment support during hypercare and stabilization phases.

  • System Performance & KPI Monitoring:

Continuously monitor key platform metrics including transaction throughput, latency, uptime, and error rates. Investigate anomalies, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate fixes with development and vendor teams.

  • Platform Maintenance & Upgrades:

Plan and execute software upgrades, capacity expansions and patch management in alignment with product roadmaps and security requirements. Validate backward compatibility and minimize downtime during upgrades.

  • Incident & Problem Management:

Own the technical resolution of customer-impacting issues. Coordinate with support teams to ensure incident SLAs are met, conduct post-incident reviews and implement preventive actions.

  • System Optimization & Enhancements:

Identify opportunities to improve platform efficiency, automate manual processes and enhance reliability. Drive the implementation of system optimizations, configuration improvements, and new feature enablement.

  • Technical Compliance & Security Alignment:

Ensure all MFS solutions comply with internal security standards, regulatory guidelines and data protection requirements. Participate in technical audits and remediation activities as required.

Experience

  • Strong background in solution design, system integration, and technical delivery within digital payment or fintech environments.
  • Hands-on experience with APIs, middleware, databases (Oracle/MySQL), and Linux-based application servers.
  • Knowledge of system performance monitoring, incident management, and platform upgrades.
  • Familiarity with cloud deployments, high-availability architectures, and security compliance practices.
  • Proven track record in coordinating with business, operations, and vendor teams for successful rollouts and post-launch support.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills.


Minimum Entry Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Mobile Financial Services (MFS) or Digital Payments platforms.
