Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Technology Support Aide and become a vital part of our IT support infrastructure! In this energetic role, you Provide on-site technical support and basic systems administration for staff and student technology in the district's school building, to help ensure the effective, efficient, and secure operation of devices, accounts, instructional technology, and related systems in accordance with district procedures and Board of Education policies.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support and troubleshooting for staff and student technology issues; escalate major or complex issues to the Director of Information Technology
- Diagnose, repair, maintain, and prepare district-issued devices, including PCs, Chromebooks, and iPads
- Assist with warranty claims and technology device repair logistics
- Install, configure, and maintain new and existing computer hardware, software, and peripherals
- Serve as an on-site technology resource for staff throughout the school building, including training on new software and AI programs
- Assist with the Technology Help Desk and respond to requests in a timely and professional manner
- Document problems, work performed, and resolutions using the district ticketing system
- Assist with basic systems administration and account support in Google Workspace, Apple School Manager, and district MDM platform(s) under the direction of the Director of Information Technology
- Assist with account provisioning, account updates, device enrollment, and related administrative tasks
- Maintain confidentiality and security when working with student and staff usernames, passwords, and access credentials
- Assist with setup and support for audiovisual needs, including assemblies, presentations, and other school events
- Assist in maintaining copiers and printers, including toner inventory and placement of service calls when needed
- Support the administration of computerized state and local assessments, including IAR, ISA, ACCESS, and NWEA MAP tests
- Assist in preparing the school for the start of the school year
- Assist with summer technology projects as part of the regular 260-day work schedule
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- College coursework related to technology preferred
- Demonstrated ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computers, printers, and related devices in a networked environment
- Working knowledge of current operating systems and commonly used software applications
- Basic knowledge of structured cabling systems and network wiring
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete multiple tasks with attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels
- Strong customer service skills and a professional, service-oriented demeanor
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality in matters relating to students, staff, parents, usernames, passwords, and district business
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while knowing when to escalate issues appropriately
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience in technical support, device repair, or school technology support
- Previous experience with Google Workspace administration
- Previous experience with Apple School Manager
- Previous experience with MDM platform(s)
- Experience supporting Chromebooks, iPads, Windows PCs, printers, and classroom technology
- Experience providing account administration and end-user support in an education environment
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, carrying, and lifting
- Ability to occasionally lift, move, or push items weighing up to 30 pounds
- Occasional climbing on ladders
Working Conditions
Work is performed on-site in the district's school building, and includes business office areas, classrooms, and other school facilities.
Terms of Employment
- 12-month employee (Friday's off during the summer, per board approval)
- 8 hours per day
- Normal work hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- 10 vacation days
- 18-20 paid holidays, depending on the school calendar
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $41,000-$45,000 (dependent on experience)

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not supervise employees.
Pay: $41,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
