Cooley LLP has an opportunity available to work with the Technology Transactions Group in our Palo Alto office. The group is seeking candidates with three to five years of experience in technology transactions, with an emphasis on high technology commercial transactions and intellectual property licensing. Substantive experience with drafting and negotiating complex licensing arrangements preferred, including agreements involving artificial intelligence counseling and deployments, software and content licensing, partnering and distribution, application hosting, cloud hosting services, intellectual property development and technology transfer relationships. This job does not involve intellectual property litigation or the prosecution/registration of any intellectual property, but may include advising on transactional privacy issues and compliance and regulatory matters (including as pertains to the emerging regulatory environment for artificial intelligence systems). A successful candidate must also have the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, working both independently and as a member of a team in a high-energy environment that involves projects for both emerging companies and established enterprises. Essential to this position are good analytical skills; creative problem-solving abilities in a transactional context; and thoughtful drafting of customized agreements to meet specific client needs. The expected annual pay range for this position is $260,000-$365,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
