Temporary Digital Content & Brand Specialist

Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies (SPCS) is the enrichment program division of Stanford Online High School. Held both online and on-campus, SPCS programs serve academically motivated pre-college students from around the world. Stanford’s Online High School is an accredited, diploma-offering, highly selective independent high school, offering courses for grades 7-12.

The Digital Marketing Specialist supports the marketing and branding goals of SPCS Programs by driving a website refresh, managing social media, coordinating email campaigns, and generating digital content. This role is perfect for a creative meets technical professional who can pivot from brand strategy to hands-on graphic design, content creation, copy editing, and web management.

Please note that the Stanford Online High School and Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies offices are located at the Stanford Redwood City Campus, and summer programs take place on the historic campus.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write, revise, and publish high-impact content for the SPCS website to drive ongoing rebranding initiatives, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to refresh and align website, and social media assets with brand standards.
  • Implement and execute integrated marketing communications and brand strategy across a variety of methods, including website, email, social media, and advertisements.
  • Generate, copyedit and refine communications to ensure brand voice cohesion across the student lifecycle, including messaging for prospective students, participants, and alumni.
  • Provide editorial support and copyediting for course catalogs, website updates and external facing written content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and brand consistency.
  • Develop and copyedit a variety of digital materials, including sponsorship reports, decks, and campaign assets, ensuring persuasive messaging for all stakeholders.
  • Create, design, and schedule social media posts, engaging with followers.
  • Contribute to vendor arrangements and scheduling to ensure the timely delivery of marketing assets and campaign materials.
  • Assist in photographing summer programs and on Stanford’s historic campus to create a library of visual assets for marketing materials.
  • Perform basic graphic design using software applications to design materials according to defined branding requirements.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • Capability to edit content and build new web pages.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading skills with previous experience as a copyeditor or writer.
  • A Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience in digital marketing, communications, and copy editing.
  • The ability to apply discretion and judgment in evaluating the implications of content release to internal and external audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships.
  • The ability to interpret and integrate feedback from team members and managers.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals, including students, faculty, staff, donors, and external audiences.

Preferred skills include:

  • Demonstrated experience with social media management.
  • Experience working with graphics in a website and social media context.
  • Previous experience creating drip campaigns in Slate.
  • An eagerness to learn new technologies and explore evolving digital platforms.
  • Proficiency with technology, including Google Drive applications, Slate, Drupal and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekend or evening events during summer programs.

The expected pay range for this position is $40- $52 per hour not to exceed 40 hours per week. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
