Temporary Nanny (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Location: Loveland, Ohio

Start Date: Roughly April 25, 2026

Duration: Approximately 9–10 Weeks

Schedule: Full-Time Preferred (Part-Time Considered)

Position Overview

A warm, structured, and loving family in Loveland is seeking a temporary nanny to provide coverage while their full-time nanny is on maternity leave. This role will last approximately 9–10 weeks and offers full-day coverage during the workweek.

The family has three children currently. Ages: 5, 3, 18 monthsDuring this temporary role, care will focus on all three children.

This is an excellent opportunity for a nurturing, confident caregiver who enjoys toddler and preschool-aged children and can provide both warmth and firm, consistent boundaries.

Schedule

Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Full-time is preferred, but the family is open to discussing part-time availability for the right candidate.

Mom works from home on Mondays and Fridays.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $21–$24/hour (based on experience)
  • Paid legally through payroll (household taxes withheld)
  • Guaranteed hours for 40 hours a week
  • IRS mileage reimbursement (current rate)
  • Paid bank holidays (if holiday falls on a regularly scheduled work day)

Children & Family Dynamic

  • 5-year-old
  • 3-year-old toddler
  • Baby: 18 months
  • Large black lab (Bear, ~85 lbs) — letting the dog out periodically during the day

Parenting Style:The family values structure and routine. Their two older children are articulate, strong-willed, and currently testing boundaries (a very normal stage!). The youngest child is more easygoing but still learning sharing and gentle play.

They are seeking a nanny who can:

  • Provide warm, nurturing energy (“hugs and warm and fuzzy”)
  • Be confident and firm when setting boundaries
  • Follow through consistently
  • Avoid constant negotiation and help guide behavior calmly and clearly

Time-outs are used as discipline (2–3 minutes, followed by acknowledgment and apology).

Responsibilities

Primary Focus: Engaged, Attentive Childcare

  • Childcare for 3 children
  • Planning age-appropriate activities and outings
  • Encouraging developmental milestones
  • Supporting emotional regulation and respectful sibling interaction
  • Sick care for mild illnessesPossible transportation to dentist or minor appointments

Child-Related Household Tasks

  • Children’s laundry
  • Meal prep for the children
  • Prepare dinner for the family
  • Tidying children’s bedrooms
  • Playroom organization and reset
  • Light clean-up of child-related areas

Driving Requirements

  • School pick-up/drop-offs and outings
  • Family will provide car seats (2 forward-facing, 1 rear-facing)
  • Nanny may use her own vehicle (space for 3 car seats will need to be considered)
  • Mileage reimbursed at IRS rate

Ideal Candidate

The family would love someone who:

  • Has toddler experience and experience handling multiple children in tandem
  • Has 1–2 years of nanny experience (preferred but flexible for the right personality fit)
  • Is knowledgeable about developmental milestones
  • Is nurturing but not permissive
  • Is articulate, emotionally steady, and confident
  • Can handle boundary testing calmly and consistently
  • Is comfortable with structured routines

Vaccinations: Standard vaccinations (TDAP, Flu) preferred. COVID vaccine flexible.

Additional Notes

  • Trial days available prior to official start date
  • No major travel required during this temporary role
  • Family open to nanny attending outings, events, and playdates

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
